King of Prussia is a census designated place in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania U.S. According to the 2010 census, the population was 19,936. In the 18th century, the community took its name from King of Prussia Inn, a local tavern in the city. The city continues to grow rapidly like the other cities in Montgomery County. The city is home to one of the largest shopping malls in the U.S King of Prussia. Also the headquarters of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Region I is located here. 

King of Prussia consists of retail and office space situated at the convergence of four highways, hence it is considered to be the edge city of Philadelphia.

By 2000, the business park was losing tenants. The situation was improved by creating a shuttle service connecting the business park to train stations nearby. Changes were made in the laws for construction of apartments and town houses in the business park. The vacancy rate has since dropped. In 2016, after an expansion corridor was built, The Plaza and The Court of the King of Prussia mall were joined.

Upper Merion Area School District serves the public school students in the King of Prussia. The King of Prussia district has five elementary schools: Caley, Candlebrook, Bridgeport, Gulph, and Roberts. PECO Energy Company provides electricity and natural gas to the city.
